Biography
Johnny got his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of California, Irvine, where she studied diseases in Daphnia. After undergrad, Johnny headed to UCI to pursue a Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Behavior. He is currently a student in Dr. Vivek Swarup’s lab, where he studies Alzheimer's disease and neurodegeneration. Outside of research, He enjoys sports, hiking, and hanging out with his friends.
Why is science communication important to you personally?
I believe science communication is critical to advancing as a society. As long as technology- whether electronic, biological, agricultural, or from any scientific discipline- is improving we can not move forward as a species unless the population at large understands the advancements scientists are making!
