Brain processes involved in memory retrieval

Biography

I am a PhD candidate in Michael Yassa’s lab in the department of Neurobiology and Behavior. I work on understanding how our brains allow us to remember when events occurred. I put people into an MRI scanner and analyze their brain activity while they do memory tasks. Experiments like these help us to understand how different brain regions work together to allow us to remember.

Why is science communication important to you?

It’s so important to get science out into the world, and this is much easier to do when research is presented in a clear and engaging way. I still remember being one of those people who doesn’t “get” science. There is something in science for everyone, it just has to be presented in the right way. I love being able to share exciting research and hopefully spark an interest in science!
