Biography
Currently, I am a 4th-year graduate student in the lab of Dr. Evgeny Kvon. I aspire to become a professor, where I hope to inspire students from historically underrepresented backgrounds to pursue careers in basic science research. It would be a wonderful bonus if I can produce a science radio show out of the university I work at.
Why is science communication important to you personally?
I believe that science is for everyone, yet peer-reviewed literature is difficult to access and, often, even more difficult to interpret without a background in science. The LDOS fulfills a critical public need for science accessibility through a medium that most people can access, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Considering that the federal government was the largest source of basic science research funding (NCSES, 2022), an informed voting public is necessary to ensure the continued support of basic science research.
