Why is science communication important to you personally?
In the next 5–10 years, I see myself as a community college professor and active community member, making science fun, engaging, and more digestible for diverse audiences. That curiosity for me began through farming, community gardening, and accessible nature books and podcasts, which made soil science and ecosystems feel alive and ultimately inspired me to return to academia at age 35 to learn more. I hope to continue sharing research through public storytelling and someday writing a book, inviting gardeners, artists, and everyday learners to connect with science in ways that feel approachable rather than overwhelming.
