Biography
I love listening to science podcasts and watching Youtube videos where they share current scientific findings in fun and engaging ways. I've dreamt of starting my own podcast where I have a "science gossip" hour and share about interesting feuds between academics. As a second year PhD student, I am looking to become an expert in scientific communication to help communicate my research and to perform outreach.
Why is science communication important to you personally?
Science communication skills are handy in multiple situations - interviews, elevator pitches, and non-academic social gatherings. Becoming an expert in communicating my science is not only key to furthering my career, but also to include my greater community in the work that I'm passionate about. I plan on practicing the art of communication throughout my entire career and hopefully engaging others enough to influence their view of science and their role in it.
