Biography
I feel that my scientific community can be insular and building interdisciplinary communications skills is a priority. I’m interested in LDOS because the public accessibility of environmental research is not only important to me, but necessary to enact policy change. Our research is only effective if it is shared with the communities impacted by environmental injustices.
Why is science communication important to you personally?
Environmental science is most meaningful when shared with everyone; public feedback and participation are necessary to seek environmental justice for those most affected by pollution and climate change. I intend to pursue a career in scientific outreach and enable the conversations needed to do good science on behalf of our communities. I hope wider communication and understanding will give everyone a voice in the discussions about our climate.
