Biography
As I have met more people inside and outside of academia, I see the importance of the general public's understanding of the value our research provides, whether directly or indirectly. The LDOS offers a captivating and digestible platform to inform the public through public broadcasting channels. I wish to increase my ability to communicate science as a writer and provide more unknown information within the fields of mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, and medical devices.
Why is science communication important to you personally?
As researchers and scientists pursuing advanced degrees, we are often seen as experts in knowledge and discovery, but our expertise should be shared outside of academia. As a future lead researcher in medical device development, I plan to actively engage the public by explaining both our findings and the scientific process behind them. Through community forums, newspaper articles, and public presentations, I wish to provide transparency and accountability while advancing medical science. This approach ensures that researchers and the public work together towards our shared goal of improving the quality of life for all.
