Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Pratima, and I'm an incoming 3rd year PhD student. I'm a member of the Chesler Lab, where I study how estrogen deficiency contributes to cardiac dysfunctions. I'm excited to be part of The Loh Down on Science and share my love for science by making exciting scientific discoveries accessible and engaging for everyone! In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and hiking!
Why is science communication important to you personally?
As I pursue a career in academic research, I hope science communication becomes one of the ways I bridge the gap between scientific discovery and society. I want to be known not only for conducting rigorous research, but also for explaining complex ideas in ways that inspire curiosity, build public trust in science, and help people understand how research shapes their everyday lives. I believe the most impactful scientists are those who advance knowledge while making it accessible to the communities they serve.
