Fine, I’ll share with you, but not everyone!
This is Sandra Tsing Loh with the Loh Down on Science, asking, how selfish does that make me?
Ask Carlos Alós-Ferrer from the University of Zurich. He and his team created selfishness games for 600 volunteers.
In one game, pairs of players were given ten points to split. But, only ONE player decided how to split them. Most players shared twenty to forty percent of the haul.
But in the other game, a single player could take up to HALF the earnings of sixteen others.
And? OVER HALF of them took the full fifty percent of the money. Yipes.
The researchers believe this proves that it’s easy to be kind to individuals, while stealing from faceless masses!
Which is fine… cuz they’re faceless.
