Ring ring! Hello, do you trust SCIENTISTS???
This is Sandra Tsing Loh with the Loh Down on Science.
Seventy thousand people across the globe were asked this very question by Viktoria Cologna from Harvard. And?
There’s room for improvement. Over eighty percent of responders want scientists to be more communicative about their research publically!
But! No country polled low in trusting science. Globally, trust averaged moderately high! The majority voted scientists as honest, well-intended, and positively impactful.
While doubt and misinformation have severe results on perception of science, the faith persists! Cologna’s work is a huge relief in knowing we aren’t alone in trusting science. Even better, this encourages open communication between scientists and society!
