Doctor, doctor! What should I do about this weird mark on my shoulder?
This is Sandra Tsing Loh with the Loh Down on Science.
Ulcers are open sores that won’t heal. For diabetes patients, keeping an eye on ulcers is key to preventing any further health complications.
Now ulcer patients don’t have to guess their symptomology. Seokjoo Soo and Ji-Hwan Ha from CalTech and KAIST made sure of that.
They developed a color-changing patch for ulcer diagnosis which measures key biomarkers of wound progression.
The patch allows for non-invasive and early detection of warning symptoms. It’s wireless and even sends data straight to your doctor!
And hopefully, that’ll be enough to get you all patched up!
