Want a D-N-A glow up?!
This is Sandra Tsing Loh with the Loh Down on Science… saying eat your veggies!
Michael Nshanian and team at Stanford University studied how fiber-packed diets affect cancer.
When digested, fiber produces molecules called propionate and butyrate. And they don’t just loosen things up in the bathroom! They loosen D-N-A-packaging proteins too, turning on helpful genes.
In mice with colorectal cancer, these molecules slowed tumor growth by over fifty percent. They also promoted healthy cell repair! These findings hint at benefits for other types of cancer too.
Think of it as a D-N-A makeover – powered by what’s on your plate.
The recipe for disease prevention? A dash of fiber and a pinch of science! Stay regular, my lovelies.
