Right on Time

Could the crack of dawn… make you crack a smile, as you get older?

This is Sandra Tsing Loh with the Loh Down on Science saying…

No way! I’m grouchy when I get up early. Then again… I’ve never studied it.

But Stephen Smagula and team from University of Pittsburgh have.

They gave two thousand older adults a wearable device that logged their sleep patterns. Then, the participants were asked about their overall happiness.

Results? People who slept in had DOUBLED chances of feeling sad. About one in five participants tended to sleep in.

Of course, Not everyone’s a morning person. But, it may be the key to a long life!

Early to bed, early to rise, might just make you healthy, wealthy and. . . what’s the other word again? Sorry, I slept in!
